Makayla Pzinski, RN

Makayla had a patient that was a newly diagnosed diabetic. He was 7 years old and scared. This patient had a few failed IV attempts before they finally got one. Later on through his care the provider ordered a VBG. The patient was terrified and refusing. Makayla agreed to allow lab to poke her before him so that he would feel better about it. The patient was able to watch her and have the lab teach him what was going on and how it worked. This patient then agreed to get his blood drawn again after watching Makayla. Makayla took the time to build a trusting relationship with the patient which allowed for better care. This patient is now looking at a lifetime of doctor visits and blood draws. Makayla made this easy and seamless for him to process!
