What moved me the most was that, after her shift was over, she still stayed to make sure my IV fluids were started before she left. That simple act of kindness told me more than words could about her dedication.
There are nurses who do their job, and then there are nurses who change your entire hospital experience. My nurse that night was the second kind, the rare kind. From the moment she came in, her smile and warmth instantly made me feel safe. She didn’t just check vitals and start an IV; she made me feel like I wasn’t just another patient, but her patient. When it came time for my IV, she talked to me the whole time, keeping me laughing and distracted so I barely felt a thing. In those moments, she wasn’t just giving me care, she was giving me comfort, and that is priceless.

That simple act of kindness told me more than words could about her dedication. She didn’t have to, but she chose to, because that’s the kind of nurse she is. She is compassionate, professional, and has the kind of heart that makes patients feel seen, heard, and truly cared for. I will never forget how she made me feel that night, and I am so grateful to have been in her care.
