This nurse is so special to me because she changed my entire outlook on Labor and Delivery. I had my daughter at a different hospital in a different state, and it was not a good experience. As soon as Makenna became my nurse, she changed my entire outlook. I want more kids now, and I am not scared of the Labor and Delivery unit. She was so encouraging in everything I did. She taught me how to breastfeed, helped me to get my son to latch, and encouraged me when I thought I could not do it or that something I was doing was wrong. She educated me in every single way possible about his circumcision and comforted me when I couldn't get him to eat afterwards. She helped me take a shower and stand after my c-section and was there every step I took. Every time a shift changed, she would let all the night nurses know I was doing amazing. This made me feel so great as a new postpartum mom. My husband said he had a great time in the nursery with her after my c-section. She let him be very hands-on and was so amazing. She was very personal and caring and made my experience great. Every time I asked or needed anything, I had it in seconds. I am so glad God made sure to give Makenna to me as my nurse. She truly made my experience wonderful. She is the reason I will definitely have more babies. I wish everyone could have a nurse like her. Please give her this award. She truly deserves it.
