My daughter was in the hospital for 19 days after an ATV accident. She had a serious arm injury, spent time in the ICU and required 9 surgeries. We had so many incredible nurses, but the most amazing was MaKenzie. My daughter’s junior prom was coming up the week after her accident. Every night, she would have dreams of putting on her dress, and then she would wake up in the hospital. I mentioned this to her nurse, and on the day of prom, I told MacKenzie that my daughter’s boyfriend was bringing flowers and dinner. She sprang into action and got Child Life involved in decorating the meeting room and planning a ‘prom’ for my daughter. It was AMAZING! We all cried when she took her first walk down the hall to the room. Every day, MaKenzie went above and beyond. My daughter trusted her and listened to her. We love MaKenzie and will never forget how she took care of my daughter.
