My daughter was overwhelmed and terrified by her diagnosis and treatments. She was especially scared of blood draws and was having a hard time physically moving her body to take care of her basic needs. Kenzie’s good humor and compassion really connected with my daughter. Despite the fact that my daughter is a very self-conscious teen girl, Kenzie made her feel so comfortable that she was able to let her take care of her, reassure her, and she really trusted her. When Kenzie wasn’t there, she would frequently mention that she could make it until Kenzie was back, or she could make it through something because of how well Kenzie prepared her. I have never seen my daughter trust and connect with someone like she did with her. This was a very difficult experience and Kenzie absolutely helped her survive emotionally as well as helping care for her physically. We cannot begin to thank her enough!
