Makynzie saved my son's life. The day after the birth of my first baby boy, whom we thought was a healthy baby at the time of his birth, prior to being discharged, Makynzie was noticing some odd behaviors from my son and called the pediatrician to come back to the hospital to check on him. The pediatrician ran more tests which resulted in a call to Mary Bridge to transport my son to their NICU. On the way to the NICU, in the ambulance, he had a seizure and stopped breathing. They were able to keep him alive and he is now healthy and thriving. If Makynzie had not stood up for us, my son would have had a seizure and stopped breathing a couple hours after bringing him home from the hospital. I am forever thankful for Makynzie and would do anything for her. She forever has a special part in my family's heart, and I pray that God blesses her in ways beyond what she can imagine. Thank you Makynzie for going above and beyond. Makynzie also received the following nomination from one of our OB/GYN physicians referencing this same event....Makynzie has been an asset to the unit but more so, she voiced her concern to the pediatrician minutes from discharge to ensure the wellbeing of the newborn was addressed. She's exemplary as a new nurse.
