Shortly after things settled down, she went to the gift shop and purchased my baby a doll to help lift her spirits.
When we arrived here at the ER, my daughter (3) was very, very sick. She was then admitted. Malisa was her day nurse, and when we first met her, we could 100% tell that Malisa was going to be very attentive as far as my daughter’s care. But what we didn’t know, but learned fairly quickly, was that Malisa is also very empathetic, kind, and caring.

When my daughter needed labs drawn, the lab poked her twice and couldn’t get the draw. Anesthesiology had to come in and poke her foot. Malisa, as well as I and three other adults, had to hold my baby down for this blood draw. Malisa was very professional about this, but you could tell it hurt her so bad to do this. She hurt for my baby.

Shortly after things settled down, she went to the gift shop and purchased my baby a doll to help lift her spirits. She was very apologetic about how traumatic that whole scene was for the rest of her shift. That night, we were sad she had to go home as it was the end of her shift. All the nurses here are amazing, but we truly believe that Malisa is just a one-of-a-kind nurse.

The next day, she was our nurse again, and we were so thankful. My daughter needed a sippy cup, and Malisa had left to go purchase her one. She brought back two and insisted she pay for them. We are truly so thankful for her care and kindness during that difficult time for us and our little one.

Thank you, thank you for going above and beyond the call of duty to make sure my little one felt safe.
