Mallory just has a wonderful way of knowing how to handle teenagers and J was especially glad to have someone he could relate to.
Mallory is such a sweet and caring nurse. She goes above and beyond the call. Mallory has been helping our family for several weeks now. Our 17-year-old son was riding his bicycle and was struck by a car. J has been through a lot and Mallory was especially kind and patient with J and all of us. She gave him his first wheelchair ride outside and stopped to get him a smoothie. Another time she wheeled him outside and stopped by to buy him a Bean Burger since he is vegan. This was especially great since J was just cleared to eat food.
Mallory was able to get J to smile, something he hadn't done in a long time. They were able to have some nice talks and walks around the unit as J was able to walk with assistance and without assistance. She just has a wonderful way of knowing how to handle teenagers and J was especially glad to have someone he could relate to. She also took the extra time for our family members when we needed extra time to ask questions or needed encouragement.
Mallory was the highlight of our entire stay here at Methodist. I just can’t imagine not having her as our nurse. J truly needed the extra boost of kindness and attention she gave. She was the perfect nurse to end our stay here and she even made time to be available for his final send-off. We will be staying in touch with her over the years and wish her all the best in life she is a TRUE SHINNING Star!
