Mallory Moses, BSN, RN, CMSRN
About a year and a half ago, my wife P was hospitalized for 11 days. While every nurse who cared for her was wonderful, one nurse truly stood out. Mallory, the head floor nurse, consistently went above and beyond. She personally assisted P with her bedpan, ensured she was clean and comfortable, and made certain she was always well cared for.
Fast forward to today—P is once again in the hospital, and Mallory remembered her. She came directly into P’s room, checked on her, and helped her get settled. Once again, Mallory demonstrated the same exceptional compassion, dedication, and attentiveness that made such an impression on us before.
When P needed assistance to use the restroom, she used her call light. Although another nurse could have responded, Mallory insisted on helping her herself. She never hesitated, even though she easily could have delegated the task. Throughout our time with her, I asked many questions, and Mallory took the time to answer each one thoroughly, making sure I fully understood.
I truly believe Mallory provides this same level of care and compassion to all her patients, not just P. If she were my employee, I would be incredibly proud. I am certain the nurses on D1 enjoy working with her, and her caring demeanor made my wife’s hospital stay significantly better simply by being present.
It is very clear that patients, families, and staff all appreciate and admire Mallory—just as we do. Saratoga Hospital is very fortunate to have her. She truly embodies what it means to be an extraordinary nurse and is absolutely deserving of the DAISY Award.
