When you are in the hospital and sick it is a very scary and out of control place. As the granddaughter of a patient and a nurse, it makes you look at being in the hospital differently. On May 10, my grandfather was on PSC1 and had Mallory was his nurse. He was very sick that day and was requiring blood transfusions and being prepared to go back to the OR. She was excellent and her attention to detail and keeping us updated kept us feeling better. Not only did she stay on top of nursing tasks she met my Paw Paw's emotional needs (as well as ours). She held his hand and comforted him when I could not find the words to say! She even came down to the OR waiting room after her shift was over to find us and check on him! This is the compassionate care that every patient in our hospital needs and deserves!
