I came into the hospital to get checked out due to having contractions. Maly checked me, and I was 7 cm. To say I was scared was an understatement. My epidural did not work, and I was in the worst pain of my life. I honestly thought I was going to die. Maly never left my side. She knew how serious the situation was, even when my baby’s heartbeat dropped slightly due to her umbilical cord wrapping around her neck, but she kept me calm and focused. Childbirth is one of the most dangerous things we face as women, and I am very grateful to have had her by me, coaching me through it. Two hours after arrival, we had a healthy baby girl.
