Even though Mancera Gracie is as busy as everyone else, she purposely finds time to do her job with a smile. It's awesome how a little kindness goes a long way. If I push the nurse's button, she's there within a few minutes with a smile, even if she is busy. She'll let you know that she'll be right back, and she is. Gracie goes out of her way to see that I am happy and puts patients first before herself. This is the last place I want to be, I'm in pain, frightened, and don't understand what's going on most of the time. Gracie treats me like a person and takes time to explain to me what tests are, what they are looking for, etc.
Gracie understands that my needs don't start or end with a code in front of them. It is Christmas and I'm stuck here alone with no visitors. Your faces are all that I see. It's nice to see a smile and to be told that everything will be ok. Gracie truly gets that. She will even pause and say a prayer with me or share a joke or a smile.
Sometimes going above and beyond doesn't take much but a simple, random act of kindness. I would like to thank Gracie for such excellent, skillful, loving, and kind care. She has made my worst holiday a little brighter. I hope this is the year when all of your dreams come true. Thank you again, Gracie. You're amazing.

Thank you, Mancera, for your exceptional compassion, advocacy, and dedication to your patients. You truly make a difference.
