My husband was a patient for almost a week in the cardiac unit.  Newly diagnosed with heart, lung, and kidney issue, it was and still is a very scary and trying time for him and I.  My husband was anxious about an upcoming procedure and when you're sick, the unknown can be very stressful.  He was upset and didn’t have much patience.  Mandy was so very sweet and kept a smile on her face and continued to reassure us and encourage us that all would be well.

It touched my heart and my husband's that despite his "negative" attitude, Mandy never showed any sign of distress.  She literally showed the truest form of kindness and concern.  She truly wanted to make us comfortable and happy.  I know being a nurse is not an easy job because you are dealing with "sick" people, and sometimes "sick" people are not very nice because they are not feeling well.  You must be a "special" kind of nurse to be able to care for people in that way.  Mandy showed the true essence of a Nightingale.  And I just want to thank her for her kindness.  It did not go unnoticed.
