July 2025 Honoree
Maniaya Davis, BSN, RN
I am writing in recognition of her exceptional service and dedication to patient care during my 5-day stay at the hospital. She was my nurse, and she was the epitome of professionalism, demonstrating care, compassion, and empathy idealized in the field of nursing. She handled her responsibilities with skill, attention to detail, and a clear knowledge of cardiac issues. Although she had 3 additional patients, she checked in with me frequently to attend to my needs and comfort and did not wait to be called. Her outstanding social skills made conversations with her easy and interesting. It was a pleasure to be in her care. Although she was not assigned to the unit on Wednesday or Thursday, she took time to visit me in my room and brought sunshine to my morning. Her warmth, caring manner, and kind conviviality were inspiring. I was very touched that she cared enough about me to go well beyond her duties. Retired after a 40-plus-year career as an executive director in a hospital and community-based healthcare, I can say with certainty that Maniaya Davis is an exceptional individual with demonstrated leadership qualities, skills, and poise far beyond her youth and relative newness in the field. She should be on a leadership track. She told me she is studying for her Bachelor's degree online. Please encourage her to continue her education and provide her with the support necessary to advance her career. She is a keeper.
Thank you, Maniaya, for your exceptional compassion, advocacy, and dedication to your patients. You truly make a difference.
