Mara Graven, RN

With Covid 19 changing the way the hospital functioned, it was hard to get the “attention to detail” that the patient needs. I didn’t have a system for my medications and they were affecting me in an uncomfortable way. When Mara came in, she changed all my medication times and went above and beyond to make me feel cared for: including a foot rub, back rub, full wipe down (cleaning), got me to use the restroom, and then cleaned me all up! She checked on me constantly and was always 2-5 minutes early to prep for my medication doses. She engaged me in conversation and took the time to get to know me as a person. This motivated me more than ever and got me on the fast track home. I’m forever grateful!

Mara is a remarkable nurse and she exemplifies the VALUES of Kaiser Permanente Nursing. She provides EXCELLENT care, with INTEGRITY and COMPASSION; she is a TEAM player, extremely PROFESSIONAL, and keeps the PATIENT AND FAMILY IN THE CENTER of everything that she does. Mara truly is an Extraordinary Nurse.
