During my husband's recent hospital visit, while most nurses were kind and empathetic, Maraiah was also thoughtful, clear, and a fantastic communicator. She explained what they were observing with his symptoms, explained how each medication should impact him, was detailed and thorough in her reviews of his progress, and noticed all the little things that can make a huge difference - like how his IV was arranged, the cleanliness around it, etc. She explained upsetting pieces with no judgment, just clear information and support. She was positive, but did not sugarcoat details that were incredibly important. She went out of her way, on a day she didn't work his floor, just to come by and check on him and make sure we understand his Foley care. She was a patient listener, and we felt heard and seen. I can tell that educating is a huge piece of her skill set and passion. Truly exceptional in every respect! Each time we saw her, our blood pressure dropped (in a good way), and we both felt like crying with relief. Not because she was fixing everything in one fell swoop, but because we felt like she was providing the kind of care and the kind of communication that would lead us to a healthy resolution. Outstanding care and attention. She is a treasure.

Thank you, Maraiah M, for your exceptional compassion, advocacy, and dedication to your patients. You truly make a difference.
