My sister had surgery in March and was lucky enough to have Maralee as her nurse. Lucky, because Maralee was extraordinarily compassionate as she took care of my sister. After having surgery, things are kind of difficult. Sometimes it is hard to make a patient comfortable, especially while they are in pain. My sister had two kidney transplants and numerous other surgeries, so her case is very complicated. She also has multiple allergies to pain meds and narcotics. Nonetheless, Maralee did her best to keep my sister free of pain by calling the surgeon, my sister's primary care doctor, and the Nurse Practitioner. Maralee did not mind to go to all these different providers to keep my sister comfortable and free of pain.
I am glad that PSJMC has nurses like Maralee; she is truly a patient's advocate and a true DAISY!
