I was encountering numerous challenges with an ambulance service and then other items that needed to be completed for a Veteran that was to be discharged to home hospice. This Veteran had family arrangements to have family be at his bedside to pass with them (some of the family members were from out of town). Marc called the ambulance service directly and then followed up with me about delays with the ambulance service. Marc came to the floor with the information, he assisted with the transfer of the patient from the bed to the gurney once the correct ambulance service arrived. Marc helped me troubleshoot the challenges as they occurred and even provided some great suggestions to try and get this Veteran to his family.

Marc’s great professionalism to assist with meeting the wishes of this Veteran and his family, making sure the nurse’s challenges were being handled as a team made all the stress of the situation ease just from feeling the support provided by this wonderful nurse. What a wonderful advocate and example of going above and beyond for our Veterans!
