Dr. Marc Rosales is kind, highly intelligent. He knows humor and has rich experience in the medical field. Most important of all, he takes pride in inspiring students to be professional and excellent nurses. He goes above and beyond in the classroom and outside of classroom hours to help us succeed! Dr. Rosales has devoted his heart and soul to his teaching on us, the first-year nursing student of ABSN program. He prepared every detailed materials to support our learning, from pre-class worksheet, didactic lecture PPT recordings, to case studies and lab activities. He emphasizes the true capabilities of his students to save lives. Our lab activities are also an amazingly enriched experience. He requires us and provided opportunities for us to review and practice CPR, although we have taken the certification class with the American Heart Association before the starting of this program. He has a great passion for his teaching in nursing. I can tell he is a person who loves his profession as a nurse educator and as a role model to our future nurses. During the pandemic, although he was sick and quarantined at home, he still gave us lecture and simulation lab instructions virtually via Microsoft Teams.

Dr. Rosales goes the extra mile to ensure that his students get the tools they need to succeed as nurses. I really appreciate that he pushes us to gain confidence in ourselves and learn clinical judgment. His goal is not only for us to just pass the NCLEX but for us to be exceptional for when the time comes that our patients need us. He achieves this by being creative in his approach to learning and constantly creating his own education content for us to use. Thank you for all you do, Dr. Rosales!

Dr. Rosales is always teaching us new ways to ensure patient safety and care. He genuinely cares for his students' success in and out of the classroom setting. He is passionate about instilling in us the essentials in taking initiative, being observant, and always using critical thinking as a nursing student. Dr. Rosales deserves this reward as his constant efforts in ensuring proper RN student education should not go without recognition. Dr. Rosales always promoted his students' success by providing informative lecture videos, interactive class activities, and motivational words throughout the semester, as he knows nursing school is very challenging. In addition, he was always available to answer any questions without hesitation. The passion for nursing that Dr. Rosales portrays is so influential and has pushed me to where I am today as a nursing student. Dr. Rosales truly has his students’ best interests at heart. Dr. Rosales constantly checks in with his students to see how we’re handling the stress, course content, clinicals, etc. He goes out of his way to bring a smile to our faces. It is obvious Dr. Rosales has a deep passion for teaching and truly wants each of his students to succeed. On top of that, Dr. Rosales wants to be the best professor he can be and is constantly asking for feedback from his students. He listens and incorporates that feedback into his course. Dr. Rosales deserves to be recognized for all of his efforts that promote student success!

Dr. Rosales is deserving of The DAISY Faculty Award because he serves as a role model and mentor for professional nursing. He is currently involved in developing the faculty to be excellent instructors as we transition to the next "NCLEX". He demonstrates enthusiasm for teaching, learning, and inspires and motivates students and all the new adjunct faculty by developing orientation and expectation videos. He listens to the students and demonstrates interest in them and respects others' opinions. Dr. Rosales is willing to look at any problem and confidently review the issue with integrity and flexibility. He recently was challenged with not enough instructors for check offs and was able to review the process and actually improve check offs for students and certainly assist me as a clinical instructor who loves to see all my students' skills and assist me with my professional growth. I have personally collaborated with Marc on many occasions and really appreciate his insights and respect for everyone involved. Thank you, Marc, it is an honor to work with you! He has such a passion for teaching and his students. He goes above and beyond to make sure we succeed and has been such a great mentor to my cohort.

Dr. Rosales is an amazing educator who cares about his students. I’ve been consistently challenged in his class, but I haven’t felt like I’ve been set up to fail. I end up being more worried about my other exams than his because I feel like he holds us to such a high standard in class that the exams are natural to me, instead, it’s because his teaching style is so effective that I’m not just memorizing information but rather truly learning and understanding it. In lab, he dials up the humor and brings in real-life experiences to either lighten the mood or hone in on why it’s important to fully understand the concept/skill so that we can have the best resources and knowledge to be able to care and advocate for our patients. His courses consistently have a patient care focus and how we as nurses can best use our skills to monitor and assess, but more importantly know what to do with these skills and how to use them in care/advocacy. Essentially, Dr. Rosales is teaching a holistic approach to nursing that focuses on ‘Care’ qua the telos of what all nurses should aspire to. I mean this ‘Care’ insofar as it’s a direct obligation that we have not just to our patients but one another as people of the world. That we should always approach our patients and others in life with Care and that ethic is what will make us successful and compassionate nurses.

It is difficult to tell one story of how he has impacted us, as he does it on a daily basis. He goes above and beyond in his teaching to help us learn the material and, more importantly, how we will see this in real practice. In doing so, he stretches our thinking and has us regularly apply our knowledge. Don't get me wrong... his classes are HARD and keep you on your toes, however, this is the best way to learn. He pours himself into his lectures, often telling personal and professional stories to drive home the points. He crafts very real case studies to apply our knowledge. And his labs are so thorough and engaging. He is a fantastic instructor who demonstrates investment in his students like I have never seen... he doesn't just want us to pass the NCLEX, he wants us to be fantastic nurses!

Dr. Rosales has been a phenomenal professor who remains passionate and committed to creating an engaging learning environment for all his students. Throughout my experience as an accelerated nursing student in his Pathophysiology and Complex Health courses, Dr. Rosales has fostered a learning environment focused on encouraging and challenging students to critically think and maximize their potential as learners. As a former educator transitioning into the nursing field, I have thoroughly enjoyed Dr. Rosales' flipped classroom technique of having lessons available online and having students come prepared to apply their new knowledge to case studies within the classroom. Dr. Rosales' classroom style, uses a frequent scaffolding level of questioning technique through discussion which provides us the ability to reflect on evidence based practices we should incorporate and the rationale behind those practices. There's no denying the level of dedication, time, and hard work Dr. Rosales has invested to create these resources for his students. Having these recorded lessons and highly detailed PCWs have been amazing resources, which I will continue to use as we prepare for the NCLEX and when I am a new nurse next year. Dr. Rosales's resourcefulness and his commitment to developing innovative educational experiences provided my entire cohort the opportunity to learn and perform all our Complex Health nursing skills within simulation together as a cohort, which we all really appreciated having.

Dr. Rosales has undeniably made a significant impact on my learning and I am thankful I had an instructor who encouraged, challenged, and prepared me as much as he has! My future patients will surely benefit from my learning experiences with Dr. Rosales.

Dr. Marc Rosales is enthusiastic about teaching in nursing. He is dedicated to providing an abundance of learning materials in every aspect of the class content which inspired me to be engaged in preparing for high-standard nursing practice. He is very responsive and provides detailed guidance on how to succeed in the course and in the clinical experience. The lab and simulation classes are the most interesting and enriched experience for me. They enabled me to get to know clearly about my role, my ability, my skills, and my expectations to myself as a nurse, and gain confidence in knowing how to succeed in the profession in the near future. Even when he was ill and in the state of quarantine, he still insisted on his teaching. He demonstrated a role model for professional nursing and mentorship.
