My beautiful, younger sister spent many days as a patient on 3 South. All days were hard, and we had Marcela as a PCIA on numerous occasions. She always exuded professionalism, compassion and excellence in all encounters. When we learned that the last chemo treatment had failed, we knew she only had a short time. My sister wanted to go for a walk, and Marcela assisted her with patience, compassion and empathy throughout. Marcela didn't rush us, and my sister sincerely thanked her. We are very thankful and grateful to Marcela for taking on this difficult role.
