I was diagnosed with non-Hodgkin lymphoma. When I arrived that morning to my first chemo appointment, I was scared in a way only cancer patients can know. When I met Marcelo, I immediately felt peace, and as he spoke with me, I was able to relax and feel a connection with him. It was a gift from God.

Marcelo's presence was so important to me. Without him, I would not have been able to get through the treatments. He offered solace and I was happy looking forward to my chemo, which while it was very difficult to deal with, I was always looking forward to seeing my friend.

I wish every patient could have the luck to have someone like him.
