We had a long-standing patient upstairs whose crutch tips had worn down, making the crutches dangerous for the patient to use. I was stressed, trying to figure out how we would get the new crutches while the patient was inpatient. Before I could even begin to solve this issue, Marcus, our Case Manager, popped into my office to say he found some crutches at a local store. It was a big relief to our team to have the issue solved and for our patient to have safe crutches to use. As a bonus, they are glow in the dark. The patient was very excited about that!
