I am writing to offer my feelings of gratitude and respect and respect towards your hard-working staff. My husband was admitted in the evening and discharged 18 days later. I arrived with my husband who was extremely ill and in the final stages of COPD. When we arrived, my husband's BP was 62/41. The ER staff immediately began treatment. Someone was calling out to "get this", "get that", and "get some blood tests!" "Blue top, yellow top, purple top tubes!" Calling out orders and things that needed to be done.
I was sure that the person calling out the instructions was the attending physician until someone said his name is Marcus Milton, RN! Mr. Milton was so professional and was very confident in knowing exactly what to do. He was my angel that night. He was busy working on my husband and while smiling and keeping me confident that my husband was in good hands. Mr. Milton made sure that I sat in the room so that my husband could see me since my husband was yelling for me. He asked my husband about his personal experience in the service, which my husband loves sharing even when in pain. These things seem like little things, but it made a huge difference to my husband and me!
That evening I know my husband was not the easiest to deal with since they were inserting needles into his bones, which as we know is very painful.
My husband is home now after an 18 day stay. I truly believe that if Mr. Martin did not love his job, he would have never put the LOVE and CARE into my husband that night. He has to love his job to be as patient as he was with my husband and me! I was able to stop crying once I saw how much care Mr. Marcus Milton showed. My husband was also able to stop crying once Mr. Milton said that "your blood pressure is improving."
He kept my husband and I informed while he was taking blood and why he was ordering certain tests. I felt a part of the entire situation since he asked me about his health and previous health issues. I know that this was all in his medical records, but now I realize that by asking me questions it kept my mind occupied. Kudos to Marcus E. Milton, RN.
