She was a genuinely caring professional and very effective in calming me down.
Today I had surgery to relieve my compressed ulnar nerve. Upon my arrival at the surgery unit during check-in, I had a serious anxiety attack. After check-in, while waiting to be admitted I did my best to control it, but I was not very successful. I went outside the building to try to shake it off and deal with the dry heaving I was experiencing. Another patient leaving the building informed me that Marcy was looking for me. All I wanted to do was run away but I went back in anyway. I’m pretty sure Marcy knew right away there was a problem when she saw me. I also informed her what I was going through. Marcy knew exactly what to do and quickly figured out what worked for me to ease my anxiety. She was a genuinely caring professional and very effective in calming me down. I never once felt like she was just trying to distract me or just doing her “job”. My first blood pressure check was 145 over something outrageous. Marcy was able to help me relax to the point where the second test was much better. Marcy is a true professional in her field and a hero in my book. Thank You Marcy for helping me overcome my concerns and not making me feel like you were patronizing me.
