After her father suffered a heart attack, this patient's family member found herself in the middle of an unimaginable situation. Little did she know, Margalit would change the way she dealt with this life-changing event.
The patient was transferred to Saint Agnes from another hospital and into the caring hands of Margalit. During moments of panic and fear, Margalit was able to help ease their worries by extending a sincere gesture that would go a long way.
"I stayed behind worried about his condition and from the doorway watched as Margalit gently spoke to him trying to calm him down," says the family member.
Margalit was attuned to her patient's needs and the worries of his family members.
"We knew what was going on every step of the way and we could not be more thankful. I knew he is in good hands."
Though the circumstances were frightening, Margalit knew she could be of service by providing a sense of calm and compassion to her patient.
"She wiped away his tears and stayed next to him until he was calm and it amazed me that a woman my father had never met was able to calm him down. I walked away with tears in my eyes."
