One of our kidney transplant patients had his heart set on going away to college in another state. However, the medical team was hesitant due to the complexity of his care and the potential difficulty in monitoring his transplant health while away. There was no alternate transplant center in his college town. Maggie strongly advocated for both his mental and physical health and made arrangements that would allow us to monitor his transplant health from afar in a safe manner.
