It is difficult to put into words how important a caring nurse is to a family at the most heartbreaking times of their lives. My brother was admitted in serious condition after deciding to not continue with dialysis with his kidneys and liver both failing. A decision was made to make him as comfortable as possible but discontinue treatment. Margaret Grande went above and beyond to attend to his needs and keep the family reassured that they were doing everything possible to ease his transition. Margaret was attentive to my brother’s needs and medications and as the end was neared was kind and considerate to our heartbreak at losing our loved one, but knowing she was able to make it as painless as possible lifted a big worry from our minds. Margaret made our family feel my brother’s needs were attended to as quickly and efficiently as possible while respecting him and also showing concern for our well-being. Thank God for caring nurses like Margaret.
