Margaret Khan is an amazing nurse and coworker. Margaret goes out of her to make her patients feel safe and cared for. I recently worked with her on the Covid unit at Elkhart General Hospital. She was assigned a patient that had been labeled as "difficult and possibly aggressive". Nurses before Margaret had several issues with the patient regarding his abusive language to them and noncompliance. Margaret set the stage with her sweet and humble spirit, making sure to set things exactly where the patient requested them in his room, giving his meds in the order he liked, and keeping his ice water filled and a Sprite on his bedside table. Because she took the time to move slowly in his room, pay attention to details, and meet his needs, this patient became compliant with treatment and much kinder to staff assigned to him. This is one demonstration of the amazing nurse and human Margaret is; she also supports a hospital financially in her village in Uganda. I have been blessed to have the honor of working with her and growing as a person knowing her.
