Marggie Lewis is amazing. Every quality you would want in a nurse is wrapped up and dressed in scrubs. She describes her job as an Emergency Department Resource Nurse as the department's "Girl Friday". Do you need help with a complex care patient? Call Marggie. Do you need to help a patient with their home wound care? Call Marggie. Your patient needs an appointment? Call Marggie. Outpatient, procedure, referral, bad news, Call Marggie! What really sets her apart from all the fantastic nurses in the ED is her care and compassion for the little things.
For example: what do victims of assault wear home for clothes? Marggie worked to set up a supply of comfortable new sweats, in a variety of sizes so patients experiencing the worst day can go home comfortable- not in miss-sized/ miss-matched donated used clothes. Marggie is the nurse's nurse taking care of us, the staff, too. She always has a smile or a funny story to make us laugh. Oh, and she also works tirelessly with the complex patients. I can't imagine anyone more deserving!
