Peggy has been taking care of me since I arrived at HSS in December 2018. I come in weekly. I have been fortunate enough to have been previously on the other side of HSS raising funds for the hospital. I co-chair the Wilson Society. I am now a patient in need of weekly care for 6 hours each week. Peggy has embraced my family and me. I arrived very unsure of myself and Peggy has nursed me back to a much stronger self.
She is thoughtful, caring and loving. In the middle of my treatments, I was planning a wedding for my daughter. Peggy was interested in every aspect of the wedding. She gave me suggestions for the shower and was a part of all planning of this larger than life event.
Just last week I had a problem with my IV. It started leaking. As soon as I told Peggy she came over immediately, took it out and began to put hot compresses on it. She stayed with me because she saw how anxious I was. On a prior occasion, an IV was put in and I had a small bulge on my arm. As soon as Peggy felt it, I was reassured. She put in a new IV in my other arm and reassured me the entire time that the swelling in my arm would be gone by the time I left the hospital, which it was.
Peggy makes me feel comforted and gives me the knowledge that I do not have. Peggy is more than I could have ever hoped for in a nurse in a hospital. I look forward to seeing her every week and I am disappointed when she is not there. Peggy is my guiding light. As soon as she draws blood, she is on the lookout for the results. I feel so fortunate that Peggy is there for me. When HSS is an incredible hospital filled with amazing doctors and this fantastic nurse. Thank you HSS and Peggy for such wonderful care!
