Peggy has gone above and beyond to keep me and my husband up to date with communication during a tough time in my son's heart surgery recovery. She helped give us all the information we needed while still getting us to smile, have courage, and hope all after a CODE event on my newborn son. Not an easy feat. Her knowledge, skill, and amazing bedside manner made a huge difference in helping us to keep the faith and remain positive, optimistic, and realistic all at the same time. She saved our son's life. There isn't an award we could give to thank her for that. We will always be so grateful for that. Peggy handled our son at his worst times with such ease, knowledge, grace, precision and most of all love. I know first hand as a nurse myself that not every nurse is like her. She is truly special and your CICU is so lucky/blessed to have such a caring and talented nurse. She helped pull us through the tough times with her positive attitude and was a guardian angel for all of us. She was also always accommodating when we had to bring in our two-year-old daughter. She helped take care of me as well post-partum by always offering to put my swollen feet up on a stool. Peggy is a true DAISY Nurse!
Note: This is Peggy's 2nd DAISY Award!
