We just move to Florida from Colorado and my boyfriend was in the ICU for 5 days initially. Margaret was his day nurse for 3 of those days. Since he spent his last 9 days in the hospital and the entire family came to visit we all witnessed Margaret's special care. His machines never beeped for more than a few seconds and she was there to make adjustments. She made us all laugh in one of the worst situations ever. She treated him like he was special and encouraged him while he was dying. Margaret made sure that I had time with the doctors when they made rounds so that I could ask questions. She brought him popsicles when the pureed food they provided did not meet his requirements. In all the times he was in the hospital in both Florida as well as Colorado, never have I come across a nurse as smart, caring, funny, encouraging and competent as Margaret. Having those 3 days with Margaret balanced things out.
