Marge was very knowledgeable. She informed my husband and I step-by-step what to expect as far as contractions and pain management.
For a first-time mom from pregnancy to birth everything is so new, intimidating, and exciting all at one time! From the moment I discovered the Yes on the pregnancy test I was overwhelmed with thoughts and emotions for the future. Throughout pregnancy one can only hope for a healthy baby by the end regardless of the path being taken to get there. My pregnancy was thankfully without complications but once it came to labor and delivery I hoped it would go just as smooth.
My husband and I prepared with the lamaze class for labor and discussed all the options regarding pain and how we would react with emergency situations. Regardless we both were hoping for an all-natural labor when the time came. From the moment Marge came into our room that Friday morning I knew God had sent me a guardian. Marge was very knowledgeable. She informed my husband and I step-by-step what to expect as far as contractions and pain management. When my husband and I had talked about pain management I explained to my husband I was depending on the nurse to help me decide the best option since I had no idea what to expect.
Marge knew exactly what to do for me. Marge made sure to take my idea of having a more natural birth into consideration. She was very compassionate towards my wants. She even gave my husband tips on helping me deal with the pain of contractions. Marge informed us that she used to teach lamaze classes so once the contractions were more intense she guided me through with certain breathing techniques she knew.
Once my body was at 7cm dilation and I was getting ready to push, Marge was in action. She made sure to help me be a bit more comfortable with Nubain and never forcing me to take an epidural. Hence again Marge keeping my wish of a natural delivery in mind. In the end, my husband and I had a healthy baby boy! My husband even explained to me that I made giving birth look easy! I couldn't have done it without Marge though. She guided me throughout labor and knew exactly what I needed in every moment. I can best say that Marge truly is passionate about her career and truly possess the skills of a true nurse. If every first-time mom could have a nurse like Marge they would all experience a smooth delivery like I did!
