Congratulations to Margie Hajnos, RN, 3 East for receiving the DAISY Award. Margie demonstrates excellence and compassionate nursing care. She goes the extra mile to make patients and families comfortable during difficult times.
Margie's nomination was provided by a grateful family member whose parent was brought to Millard Fillmore Suburban Hospital in grave condition and passed away at the hospital.
The nominator commented, "From bringing in extra seating for the family to her offer of blankets for us, to sharing her nurse's kitchen for our physical needs, Margie went above and beyond her job. Most important to all of us, however, was her loving and considerate ways with our mother. Margie treated her with respect and kindness and saw to her comfort. This showed us that she valued our mother for the person she was rather than just another patient. She was able to see how important our mother was to us and she allowed us the time and freedom to be with her until the very end."
