Margy is the epitome of what we should all aspire to be within our nursing roles! She is always willing to jump right in and help wherever there is a need. She is a comforting and compassionate presence for the patients and families in which she interacts. Margy's clinical skills are impeccable and she takes ownership within her role and independently completes tasks that she identifies as requiring completion without anyone asking her to do so. She is an absolute joy to work alongside! Margy has also gone out of her way to show her fellow coworkers that they matter. She will coordinate birthday celebrations, going away parties, baby showers, and any other type of party imaginable, to show her coworkers that they matter. When I first started helping out in the Urgent Care, she was one of the first nurses to introduce herself to me and offer to assist me in any way possible. She was instrumental in my acclimation to that department. Watching her continuous supply of energy and positivity has made me reflect on my own practice. I have been a nurse for many years now and each and every time I am fortunate enough to work alongside Margy I say: "When I grow up, I want to be just like Margy!" In my opinion, she is the perfect picture of a Dayton Children's nurse!

Margy shows unwavering dedication to Dayton Children's Urgent Care every day she comes to work. She consistently goes above and beyond for the unit by arriving early to ensure we are well stocked and to make sure there are wagons and wheelchairs for our patients. Margy continuously collaborates with child life specialists to make sure our patients who undergo procedures are rewarded for their bravery. Most recently, she worked with child life specialists to get small stuffed animals for our brave patients! She will take the time to listen to parent concerns and makes sure every child is as comfortable as possible. Margy is the heart of our urgent care - her warm personality creates a welcoming environment for patients, families, and all staff that works with her. Margy is constantly thinking of others; she bakes the most delicious pies to brighten our day, she organized a gift basket for one of our EVS staff members during a tragedy and ensures that her co-workers are acknowledged for their hard work. As Margy's career as a nurse is coming to an end, she truly deserves to be recognized for her commitment to providing safe, compassionate, high-quality care. Margy such a delight as she always smiling! It is truly an honor to have learned from her and to work beside her.

Margy has been an absolute pleasure to work with! She goes above and beyond for her patients and always makes sure they have everything they need and ensures all their questions are answered so that they feel confident in their ability to continue caring for their child once home. She is always anticipating their needs in advance. She is so gentle, patient, understanding, and kind with all of our patients and families, especially the challenging ones. As a member of the care team, she embodies what it means to be a team player. She is always willing to help, lend advice, offer helpful tips she has learned along the way during her many years as a nurse. You never see Margy idle, she always finds something to do to keep busy and make sure the unit has everything it needs to run smoothly. She is always looking to help her co-workers in any way we need and regularly brings joy to us all with her incredible baking! She is so very thoughtful and it has been an honor and a joy to work alongside her. I strive to maintain the same work ethic and empathy for my patients that seems to come so naturally to her. She is truly a fantastic nurse and an even better human being.
