Maria is an amazing patient advocate. She quickly responds to the needs of her patients no matter the situation and handles it with professionalism. She keeps a calm and cool demeanor in the toughest of situations. Today I was present for a situation that resulted in Maria being bitten while attempting to provide care. She remained calm and compassionate towards this patient despite a possible injury. She directed those of us around her accordingly to de-escalate the situation as smoothly as it could have been done. She is genuine and cares about what is right for her patients. She has great leadership qualities and leads by example.
