Maria "Dolly" Cardenas is a role model for the staff. She tends to her patients, their family members, and her coworkers as if they were part of her own family. She not only establishes a professional nurturing relationship with her patients but also efficiently works within the Interventional Recovery Suite. This is a fast-paced procedural area and requires the ability to identify problems and to collaborate with Physicians, Fellows, Nurse Practitioners, Vascular Residents, Management, fellow nurses, and PCAs in order to provide effective, safe, compassionate, and competent care to achieve the best possible outcomes. Dolly not only establishes a professional, nurturing relationship with her patients, but she has extraordinary clinical assessment skills and provides exceptional care to her patients and their families. She emulates everything that is good in nursing. She makes those around her proud and is admirable for all she does for her patients and colleagues. She goes above and beyond because it is her own will to do so. Dolly is a wonderful role model, mentor, and coworker.
