My mom began as a patient after breaking a bone due to a pathologic fracture that required surgery to secure her femur. I need to mention that mom is 90 and was diagnosed with Stage 4 Metastatic Renal Carcinoma last October. Maria has been a shining light for my mom. We found out this week that my mon's cancer has spread so it has been a tough week for her. Every single time Maria walked in that room, she brought energy and joy that is hard to describe.
