This nurse educator, Maria Guerriero, exemplifies the kind of faculty member that students, colleagues, staff, and administrators recognize as an exemplary educator and an outstanding role model. She provides an incredible therapeutic learning environment for her students. She role-plays with them, treats absolutely everyone with the utmost respect, has a kind and humble heart, and makes learning fun! Maria’s collaboration, meaningful contributions, and openness to student learning delivery methods are wonderful – teaming up with her through this pandemic has been one of the most fulfilling experiences in my decade of being here. The two of us together took care of all of our nursing department’s behavioral health clinicals while pivoting fully online during a health crisis –it was a tremendous success because of her passion for collaboration, kindness, and compassion.
