Maria took care of our father who was in ICU for over a week. He had many wonderful caregivers, but he said Maria was the absolute best. She provided very difficult care to a very difficult patient (yes, we know) with loving-kindness. She explained what she was doing and had amazing patience with him. Maria also took the time to talk to the family on the phone about our dad's care and condition, with his permission, to ease our anxiety and fears. As an RN myself, it is amazingly hard not to be there with him as he goes through this terrible time. The COVID-19 lockdown has only made this terrible situation worse. I am so beyond grateful that someone can offer him the comforting care that I would if I could.
We are so grateful for all his providers. To have him to say something so meaningful in regard to Maria is beyond what we'd ever expected, especially with what he was going through.
Maria, I'm sure your angel wings are very heavy. Thank you with our entire hearts.
