The level of care my father received under Maria's watch was far above ANY care he has received.
My father doesn't like many people and Maria was able to establish instant rapport with him. She was quick to respond and did it with a smile. This is the most important quality a nurse can have - people heal people. Maria was a presence in the room. It was palpable that she cared, was capable, and was a healer. I believe her reassurance and encouragement altered the speed of my father's recovery.
Maria's interaction with the night nurse was professional, thorough, and showed she understood my father and his needs. Maria was friendly, warm, and maintained professional decorum, but balanced this with a wonderful sense of humanity. She saw and treated my father as she would her own.
