I believe her reassurance and encouragement altered the speed of my father's recovery.

Maria's interaction with the night nurse was professional, thorough, and showed she understood my father and his needs. Maria was friendly, warm, and maintained professional decorum, but balanced this with a wonderful sense of humanity. She saw and treated my father as she would her own.
