Maria Mounnarat, who was covering us as the unit charge nurse on the 6800 floor, demonstrated an exemplary work ethic and leadership skills. During her shift, there was a concern for impending VT cardiac arrest along with cardiogenic shock on the floor.

However, Maria promptly stepped in and provided assistance throughout the acute critical management of the patient and their family. She was also able to motivate and strategize her nursing staff to ensure the patient was provided with the best care possible.

I have rarely felt so supported by a nurse, and I appreciate her steadfastness and selflessness towards patient care. Maria embodies the quality of "service before self" and is a true patient advocate.

I want to nominate her for the DAISY Award, as such hardworking and genuine people need to be acknowledged, recognized, and cherished. Rochester General Hospital is a safer place with such a strong nursing staff.
