Maria's care has been beneficial to help me overcome the temptation to take a nap or isolate myself at a time that would be unhealthy.
I was admitted to the care of the professional staff at Resnick Neuropsychiatric Hospital dealing with severe malnutrition and eating disorder related behavioral concerns. The first nurse assigned to me is one who has continued to contribute faithfully to my care. I hope I can draw attention to the way that Maria's faithfulness in duty has made a difference to me and I do hope will facilitate my sure and steady return to the care of our three small children; 7,4 and 2. All along, I have had specific nutritional requirements. Maria has worked with me to make sure I could meet with the registered dietitian on staff, to work out snacks of appropriate health and calories, and tend to my day-long care in such a way that facilitated my timely attendance to regularly scheduled meals.

In my time at the hospital thus far, I have progressed at a healthy pace from 78 to 95 lbs. I am thankful for Maria's part in helping me gain that weight, which came from care a lot more involved than serving a plate of food. Vitals, blood work, ted hose, doctor's appointments, occupational therapy, and psychiatry consults have been a part of the coordinated effort that Maria has helped orchestrate on my behalf.
Personally and privately, I'd like to acknowledge that I have required care at times that could have been humiliating at least. I found myself in embarrassing circumstances due to the way I handled personal hygiene and bathroom needs. Maria tended to my need for support by gathering for me my clothing and towels so that I could get to morning care tasks on time. She denied my tendency to overanalyze the cleanliness of the facility in a way that could have been debilitating to me.

Maria has also proven protective in her care of me as it relates to:

1) Ability to get sleep - I entered care sometimes only getting 1-3 hours at night; now I'm consistently getting close to 6 hours.

2) Ability to communicate - I had a difficult time conducting coherent conversations and now am quite capable to relate to staff and patients.

3) Ability to refrain from depression, including, behavior - this is a more recent area that Maria's care has been beneficial to help me overcome the temptation to take a nap or isolate myself at a time that would be unhealthy.

Maria provides me with accountability. She is professional in communication with me and others. She tends to her duties in a timely way not compromising her responsibilities by my requests as an individual. Thank you RNPH, for providing me with the care of this excellent Nurse!
