Maria is one of the most dedicated nurses I know. She goes above and beyond for patients and team members alike. She is personal, providing specific therapeutic skills. She is caring and always ensures the patients are safe and comfortable. She always spends time outside of work researching and learning so she can provide effective evidence-based care. She displays compassion and empathy for the patients and their families. Overall, she is dedicated, comforting, humbling, and responsible in her work. She really is a super nurse. She is also a great mentor and example to those around her. She never loses her patience, and always brings the Lord's light to the unit with her!

Maria is an exceptional nurse and we are so lucky to have her. She is always asking great medication-related questions that make it evident she is critically thinking about the well-being of all patients. She is always ensuring that patients’ medications are appropriate and safe. Today, she caught a med error where the wrong formulation of medication was dispensed inadvertently by the pharmacy. She did not bypass the barcode scanning error and called the pharmacy, which is when the error was detected. This is just one example of how knowledgeable she is and how she always looks out for the patients under her care.
