I was taken by ambulance to MHNE from Kingwood CCC as an EKG seemed to show a heart attack in process. I had no issues prior to this day, yet the pain in my chest, back, and shoulder was insane. A Heart Cath and CT showed no heart attack, clot or aneurysm. As thankful as I was for the news and all the care received, I was still in much pain, even with the considerable amount of medications. I was placed in the ICU for the night. Maria was my nurse. She listened as I explained my pain and conveyed to the doctors my concerns. She was able to advocate for me to receive medication to ease the pain. Her excellent nursing skills are to be applauded as she helped me listen to my body. Combined with her skills, compassion ruled through her from her gentle approach mixed with times of laughter that brought me at peaceful rest that helped me through the night. I am so very thankful and humbled to Maria. Thank you, Maria.
