I once heard a quote that said, "Become the kind of leader that people would follow voluntarily even if you had no title or position." Maria Rigby is that kind of leader - her staff admires her, respects her, and absolutely loves her. Maria does not just demonstrate compassion for patients and their families, but her colleagues as well. Anytime a nurse on the floor needs assistance with a difficult situation or even just to place an IV, Maria is there with a willingness to help. She loves what she does and it shows through her excitement in educating others and making them feel proud and competent. I've been a nurse for 35 years and have worked with good managers as well as bad managers - Maria Rigby is 100% one of the best. I'm blessed to call her my manager as well as a dear friend. She's a ROCK STAR!!!
