Maria Rodrigues serves her patients with dignity and compassion. And for this, they continually express their gratitude.
One patient explained, "During my stay on 3 South I was suffering and battling pain and other symptoms. Maria did everything she could to make me feel better and went way beyond her job description. I noticed that she does this daily for all of her patients." Another patient of Maria's remarked, "She is an amazing woman. Maria is extremely knowledgeable and sweet and she did everything she could to make sure I was comfortable."
Maria's coworkers have also noted their admiration, saying, "Maria makes me proud to be a St. Charles Nurse. She combines the art and science of nursing and approaches her patients with humor and kindness, putting them at ease immediately. It has been a pleasure to transfer the care of many patients to Maria."
Compassionate care has been St. Charles Hospital's mission for more than 110 years and Maria's dedication to living this mission makes her a true DAISY Nurse.
