When I was admitted for the twelfth time with pancreatitis, I was feeling so down to the point where I wanted to die instead of living through this time and time again. Then Maria stepped into my life. She came in with a smile on her face. She listened to me when I cried and calmed me down when the pain got too bad. She was caring and made me feel welcome. Maria made sure that I understood what was happening with my illness and why. This is something that a nurse or doctor had never done before. I truly believe that I got through my time at TMC only because of Maria, and I want to say thank you to her.
