When I arrived in the unit, Maria greeted me with a warm and professional attitude that makes me feel comfortable and safe. On my first night I had a reaction with a medication, I didn't feel any worries and afraid because I was confident about my nurse. Maria did exactly what I expected. Called the MD right away and stayed with me; held my hand to alleviate any fear and anxiety that can develop. The human contact was very important and conducive at this moment. Maria has gentle and caring demeanor that really helps me in my stay in the hospital.

Maria is a true example of a team player. She strives to provide excellent patient care in every shift she works. She has the ability to think critically while exercising clinical and professional judgement all while remaining calm and most of all compassionate. She has a positive attitude, awesome sense of humor and the ability to always work as a team player has truly made the unit a better work environment.
