My husband has been a patient at MidState a few times. When he was admitted here this past time, my family and friends told me I should move him to Hartford or Yale, but I knew I wouldn't get the same treatment and response to his and my concerns as I get here at MidState. My husband was critically ill and when I arrived to the ICU I was met by the most wonderful nurse, Maria. Please understand that all the nurses in the ICU were wonderful in their own way but Maria was that special angel that I needed. Maria was so easy to talk with and cared not only for my husband, but made sure I was doing ok also.
When my husband was transferred to Hartford Hospital as he needed a higher level of care, everything went well but our hearts will always be with the MidState Nurses. Maria made such a positive impact on our family and we believe she is very deserving of the DAISY Award!
